Code of Conduct

As part of the Taipans family, our committment and your committment in joining us is to foster a welcoming and respectful club environment.

Club Expectations 

  • A.01 Take pride in representing the club on and off the field. 

  • A.02 Zero tolerance for harassment of any kind. 

  • A.03 Notifying club representatives if unable/late to attend games. Minimum 45 minutes notice prior to game start. 

  • A.04 Notifying club representatives if there are disputes amongst players/members that are not resolved. Notifying should be brought up ASAP for faster resolutions. 

  • A.05 Zero tolerance for prohibited substances while attending an event hosted by Baseball Association Townsville. 

  • A.06 Zero tolerance for drinking and driving. Adults must be responsible during scheduled activities. 

  • A.07 All smoking and vaping must be in the designated smoking areas according to Baseball Association Townsville smoking policy. (Please see photo attached at end of Code of Conduct)

Players 

  • B.01 Respect the time and effort put in by all members involved with Baseball Association Townsville. Without these people, baseball will not continue. 

  • B.02 Learn and understand the rules of the game and adhere to the Code of Conduct of Townsville Taipans Baseball Club and Baseball Association Townsville. 

  • B.03 Do not argue with any associate of Baseball Association Townsville. If you need to raise an issue, discuss with your Coach/Representative, and then can take the relevant steps needed. Respect the provided/your own equipment. Any abuse i.e. throwing helmet/bats will not be tolerated. 

  • B.04 Arrive to all schedule games minimum 1hr before game start for Little League and seniors, 30 minutes for Aussie T-Ball. This allows coaches ample time for team composition and warm up. Uniforms are to be worn while warming up. Player jersey can be replaced with an undershirt. Player jersey needs to be worn and tucked in before coaches are called. 

  • B.05 Strive to attend as much training and games as possible. Player development is a major focus for our club. 

  • B.06 Encourage your teammates and opposition. Do not ridicule other players, everyone makes errors. 

Spectators 

  • C.01 We do not condone verbal or physical abuse towards any individual/parties associated with Baseball Association Townsville. 

  • C.02 Encourage players when they make a good play. This is not limited just to our club. Respect the time and the effort put in by all members associated with Baseball Association Townsville. Without these people, baseball will not continue. 

Volunteers/Officials 

  • D.01 Provide an environment that promotes safe activity and limits potential incidents. Take pride in what you do and own the outcome. We will always assist you in your endeavours. Be punctual. If you oversee/assist in an area, Club members rely on you to operate efficiently and respectfully. 

Repercussions 

  • E.01 Benching of player 

  • E.02 Suspension from Townsville Taipans Baseball Club 

  • E.03 Ineligibility for representative opportunities 

  • E.04 Ineligibility to attend Townsville Taipans Baseball Club functions 

  • E.05 Ineligibility to attend Baseball Association Townsville functions 

  • E.06 Ineligibility to receive EOY awards 

  • E.07 Removal from field and surrounding areas. 

  • E.08 Termination of membership from Townsville Taipans Baseball Club
