Connie Rowe, or “Nails” as she is known as around the club, is our Club Secretary and
Social Media coordinator. Connie has been a member of our club since 2019 and has been building our social media presence for the last few years. This year she also took on the role of Secretary. Connie was recognised as Baseball Queensland's Administrator of the Month for March and we wanted to share a bit about why.
As our club continues to grow, Connie has been instrumental in ensuring our club has the necessary procedures and documentation in place to operate smoothly. She works tirelessly both on and off the field to makes sure all coaches and volunteers have the support needed to complete their role successfully.

Connie was the driving force behind senior recruitment this year and organising our club’s sign on day. She actively demonstrates leadership by taking initiative running trainings and developing players across the association. Connie is your go-to to find out the latest updates on training and events, and coordinates our volunteers to cover umpiring, scoring and canteen duties. On top of this she also volunteers for these duties herself.
Connie brings innovation with her approach to creating promotional material for club and representative teams. She has worked tirelessly behind the scenes during the offseason to get our club website up and running. Connie is the brains behind the player profiles you see showcasing some of the emerging athletes in North Queensland at club and representative levels and makes sure to shine light on the achievements of other volunteers within the club.

Outside of her club duties, Connie actively looks for ways to increase the visibility of Baseball in North Queensland and strengthen our women’s program. She has engaged with local media to showcase our region’s successes and continues to advocate for women in baseball while playing at a representative level herself. Connie took initiative organising fundraisers to support the Queensland Women’s Baseball representatives travelling from North Queensland to Melbourne and continues to bring her innovation for this at a club level. She is highly respected member of the Townsville Baseball community and has begun coaching to foster the next group of players. She does all of this and manages to fit in time for her own training as well.

Taipans Baseball Club would be lost without Nails. Connie fills the roles of many people and wears many hats that we are extremely grateful for, including her trademark propellor hat on busy days. Thank you for all that you do for us.
